You have to press "start". You should see a start and a finish

i would consider letting the user draw a line along his house's edge.
you could then calculate the bearing between these two points. for
distances between points as short as your average house side-length
you needn't compute spherical bearings, you can just do it in
euclidean space.

Keep an array of references to the markers you want to remove and
iterate through it calling removeOverlay on each one or keep an array
of the markers that were added from xml, call map.clearOverlays, then
add them back...

I wondering if its possible to remove all the markers on a map except
those parsed from the xml file.

i want to do this to remove custom markers that have replaced
direction markers, but at the same time leave all the markers added by

I never tried in IE6 but I have tried in Firefox, Opera and Safari and
it doesn't work.

Now I declared MARKER as global var but still not working! Very
strange problem, I think.

Reading this again, perhaps your complaint is that the marker seems to
move in the right direction but in a series of little steps. Yes, no
matter how small you make your step in lat/long terms, the marker can
only appear to move by one whole screen pixel at a time. That is a
linitation of pixel based screens, not the map.

Markers can only ever be plotted at locations that are integer numbers
of pixels. Because your lat and lng increments are less than one pixel,
the marker sometimes moves one pixel East and sometimes moves one pixel
North, and sometimes doesn't move at all. This causes a slight jitter to
the motion.

You haven't declared MARKER as a global with a var, that might help.

Larry, if you see the source code you will see that there are a
constant increment to "lat" and "lng" variable. That defines a
imaginary line, right? That line is not represented on the map.

But the gmarker never moves over that imaginary line. Gmarker moves
with shaking movements. Why???
