But actually i wanted to know that the distance they provide in (miles
or km)   so actually they use which vehicle(i.e by car or by train or
by something else)

Tele Atlas have several sizes of mapping van ranging from ones like
this:

The chosen route is the one that works out to be the one with the
shortest estimated duration.

It looks like NAVTEQ apply a standard speed estimate to each type of
road, and Tele Atlas might capture the speed achieved as they drive
along the road mapping it.
