Subject: Problem: kjapandatumhack
I'm a developer in Japan.
In the latest Google Maps javascript code I receive,
Google sets 'var kjapandatumhack' value to true.
The value is newly set in maps.11.js.
With kjapandatumhack, I can't get correct map images
(it shifts about 0.01 degrees to west, 0.01 degrees to north)
Can I go around this problem?

Thank you.

Put location data for GPoint() in Tokyo datum. You will find the way to
transform to Tokyo in Google.

I think to introducing this new var is not good idea.

What will happen if I want to put mark on the end of runway 34L at
Haneda Airpot? To do this, the URL is
http://www.platypus.st/exec/show-gmap-sample.rb

Can you see the mark at the end of runway?

The location is specified in Tokyo datum in that page. If your
kjapandatumhack are set to true, the mark is on the end. But if not,
the mark may be swiming.

Please discard this kjapandatumhack or introduce the method to set by
user.

Thank you.

I noticed this problem occurs only in Japan.

For example, the url below is the top of the Mt. Fuji.
(center of the crater)
http://map.hatena.ne.jp/?x=138.73323283759223&y=35.360295001559784&z=3
Now we can see the marker points at the rim of the crater.

And below is Ayers rock,
http://map.hatena.ne.jp/?x=131.03530883789062&y=-25.33893585205078&z=5
This marker points well.

Just notices that version 11 is out on the main Google Maps webpage.
Looks as though there is a variable for DATUM hack.  Looks as though
they may be incorpating this.

I found the answer at the url below.

http://d.hatena.ne.jp/tociyuki/20050712/1121170892

All we have to do is insert this code before you show the map.

_SATELLITE_TYPE.japanDatumHack=false;
