Hey guys, I have posted the link to my Risk project on here, but it was attached to a question regarding infoWindows, so I just wanted more people to be able to see it and see if anyone (besides my friends who hear me talk about it all the time) have any thoughts or feature requests. http://www.ashotoforangejuice.com/gmrisk.html
For the next version (2.0) I'm going to attempt multiplayer support, but we'll take that step once it gets there. For those curious on the more immeadiate future, I'll be fiddling with infowindow tabs and number of player options.
You can actually play a "hot-seat" game. So everyone needs to be huddled around one computer. Once you select a game type it auto-generates a map (when testing I usually just do the minimal game for simplicity) and you click on markers to add reinforcements, attack territories from the infowindows of the nation markers. The two buttons in the middle (the rook and the fast forward button) are for fortifying your nations after attackin and ending the turn. If you still can't figure it out I'll try to put some screenshots into the example game off the faq so you can actually see what I mean.
Awesome work there, can't wait to see multiplayer support. I ran into one problem though: with 2 players left neither player received cards even when they took over a territory. The cash in value was 20 if that helps :)
Hey Ammut, I tested your issue this morning and did not notice the problem. The only thing I suspect is if you were to be playing a long game, the deck does not re-shuffle (right now) and it could have just been running out of the deck of cards instead of being as you state. I'll try to test that a few different ways and see if I get the same thing. What OS and Browser were you using that you noticed this on? Also, cash value locks once it hits 20 to prevent a massive sweep of the world by cashing cards late in the game.

I hate to be a stupid noob. . . but everytime I click on the link I get this error that says: "The Google Maps API key used on this web site was registered for a different website. You can generate a new key for this website at http://www.google.com/apis/maps/."
What should I do in order to play the game? Do I really need to create my own APT key? Would I enter in the link? Even if I do generate a key, what do I do with it?
Did you just get slashdotted (aka more than 50,000 page views and thus Google canceled your API key because you need permission for that many first)? What's up? How can I get it to work with that error. Sounds awesome! Thanks to anyone in advance for any help on the matter!

I really don't want to try installing IE7 on my machine yet, but if it's
misreporting the identity of the website in a recognisable way, it might
be possible to produce a workround.

In the original game: There were only six continents: North America, South America, Australasia (changed later to Austrialia, though I think Oceania or something is the correct name these days), Asia, Africa and Europe.
OK that makes sense. . . now I don't feel quite so stupid. Yep, I have IE 7.0 BETA. I went to the link using IE 7 BETA and it was actually reporting it correctly.

I was hoping that IE7beta was misreporting the winndow.location
information. The rest of the key checking code looks like simple data
manipulation. I can't see anything else that the browser could get wrong
without it's Javascript implementation being completely broken.

Only if I remembered how to play the game, I'm sure I'd be addicted my whole work day.... One of these days, I'll figure it out.
Hey all, First thanks for the kind words. I've gotten a bunch of reports from Safari users that the radio buttons and checkboxes inside infoWindows cannot be clicked. I've tried to research on these boards about Safari problems, and from what I understand the few problems that were around about a month ago seemed to have been resolved. The buttons/checkboxes work in IE, Firefox, and Opera (that I've seen) in both Windows and Linux. Anyone have any ideas?
