We're hoping that these style changes will provide ads that are much
less intrusive than the current incarnation. As before, you can
control how many ads will be displayed on your map using the
maxAdsOnMap option when constructing the GAdsManager object.
We'll also fetch new ads on map moves slightly more often, so you'll
probably notice a slight increase in the volume of ad queries
reported.
Over the coming weeks we'll also start to serve ads outside the USA.
It would be great if you could give us some style options we could
play with...the new format really doesn't appear to stand out from the
map as "something to click on". Even just being able to specify a
border size/color would be helpful. Ideally I'd like to be able to
choose from a small set of google-supplied icons, i.e. at such-and-
such a zoom, I might like to use a red dot, at a closer-in zoom, I
might like to use a larger square, etc...

You're correct that we're not yet nudging the ads in the UK. We'll be
rolling this out really soon.
In the meantime if you want to see the nudging in action, you can
navigate in your example to Manhattan, where the ads will tend not to
avoid labels on the map.

"Improved coverage. We introduced GAdsManager last year, but didn't
show many ads. Now, our coverage is much improved without impacting
relevance. We also now show ads for all countries where the Local
Business Ad format is supported."
I haven't seen an increase in coverage for my country (The
Netherlands). Can you explain why?
I created a unique channel to track them but I don't see the
impressions showing up in Adsense. I do see a whole lot of overall
impressions (much more than I would expect) and I think they are
coming from the map.
I have a concern that the overall click thru rate for my sites will
show a significant decrease and possibly result in lower click
payments. Is this a valid concern?

Does anyone had result with adsense inside maps?
I started today and didn't like.
I get 200.000 impressions but zero clicks!
Google analytics reported almost 18.000 pageviews, its almost 11 ads
per pageview, and I almost never see an ads...
Someone to comment it?
Thanks,
Frisoni

You might get more response if you didn't post to a sticky topic,
because they are really for announcements and won't be monitored for
very long. Start a new thread.
they work, but very, very poorly. I have seen two (yes 2) conversions
since the icon change, with literally 10's of thousands of ads served
on the maps.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner about this!
I checked out the link you posted above, and it appears that while
we've increased coverage, we still don't have many good ads in our
inventory that are a good fit to the content of your site, which seems
to be about tractors.
We're working hard on improving the coverage.
