I made a Google Group with a Yahoo account. So, for security, I've
decided to make that group from a Gmail account. I've deleted the
group I made, but now I'm not getting to make a group from the Gmail
account, with the same name. In the page to confirm the group, I type
the words in the box, press the bottom, but the page simply refresh,
indefinably. How can I get to make my group. The group's name is
important, since it's a group I'm trying to transfer from an existent
Yahoo group.
Please help me!
Nandhe
What about all the ghost groups that were created but not connected/
manageable? I created at least 20-groups trying to find a name that
wasn't "already in use" and now I want to use those I created since
they really weren't duplicates/in-use.

This is my question as well. I just set up and deleted a 'test group'
so it seems to be working for me again; however, the original group I
tried to set up is showing 0 members, no owner, so I can't access it.
Plus, all the duplicates I created before I realized the problem was
Google, not me, are not showing up when typing in the url directly,
but if I try to use it again, the system tells me it is already in
use. Is there not a way to fix this? I have never tried Google for
groups before and am thinking I might be better off going back to
Yahoo. I love Gmail but so far my experience with Groups is not a
positive one.

I am still having trouble with all my groups. I cannot add pages or
edit. I can't actually do anything but view what is already there. I
have have this problem for some months now and it does not seem to be
getting resolved. Please help.
Thanks.
I created a group on Feb 18th, and I was not assigned as the owner. I
have sent in two help requests before finding this group and
discussion. I am still not the owner but other people have been able
to join the group b/c i set it up as "open." I was even able to start
a discussion and so was a new member. This is my group:
http://groups.google.com/group/same-kabul-post
I think is not fair to just say that the problem has been fixed when
hundred of people are still trying do manage without success the group
they created. Indeed, like me, a lot of people choose a nice name for
their google groups and now it is not possible to access it or re-
create it.
I imagine that if there is no real clues to our problem a lot of
people will use the nice name they choose to create a yahoo group.
Anyway I would be very delighted if someone of your staff take the
time to explain us what is going on and the way to fix our problems.
I've been trying on IE7 to create a new group (with an independent
email address, not yahoo etc) for 2 days now and it still gives the
error when you click the "Create Group" button.
"Sorry this service not available blah blah" red text graphic with a
note to try again at another time.
OK, this is going on three days now that I get the same error. When
we get to the verification text, it always displays "sorry, we are
unable to process your request now. PLease try again later."
Can you at least acknowledge that this problem is being worked on????
i've seen this message so many times. so when is it going to be fixed
can you give a schedule, ratehr than just leave it open. As it is, you
must be losing many people to Yahoo, as I have already made my group
there.
I have the same problem for a few days now. U tell us that the problem
is solved, but nothing has changed. For 2 days, u don't even let us
know whether you're working on it or what the problem is.
Please, at least give an update, or better, fix it!

I tried to start an group at MSN (yes I know, the Evil Empire) and ran
into a similar problem. I could create the group, but then it would
not allow me to invite new members. Since I need this to be an
invitation only group, this is just as bad. I cannot see on Yahoo
where I can create an invitation-only group that will not show up on a
search engine. Anybody able to do this?

Thank you for this feedback. I wanted to let you all know that we're
working to resolve this issue. I'll provide any updates I have to this
discussion thread.

THE POSTS ARE NOT GOING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE GROUP & 2) SOME IMAGES
IN SOME OLD POSTS ARE NOT APPEARING, SHOWING BROKEN LINKS FOR THE
IMAGES (both, since the beginning of February).
Try this: http://groups.google.com/group/sangha-vix/web/a-rocha-e-a-flor and look at the image broken link (but the image is somewhere because
I can put it in new posts/texts. And, what about the e-mails that are
not going to the members of the group??? I post messages and they
don't go by e-mail to the members as they did before these days.
Please, I am having troubles because of the issue I have reported to
you (see below), as many other people and groups administrators, as I
have read in a number of posts . Please, I would like to read
something new about the SOLUTION. It's difficult to understand the
time google takes to solve problems like that in google groups. Are
google groups less important than other google services?
That was my post and the problems are still there:
I think this is a post to google groups administrators attention and
support. Hello, guys, tks for your help and support.
I am one of the administrators of a group in google groups and I would
like to report TWO PROBLEMS of some IMPORTANCE, when I'm posting and
managing the group:
1) THE POSTS ARE NOT GOING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE GROUP since two or
three weeks ago (in the beginning of february, then), besides the fact
that they were really posted there and we can see the messages
online.
But, WE'RE NOT RECEIVING THE E-MAILS RELATED TO THE POSTS. Not a
single e-mail is arriving from the posts.
2) SOME IMAGES IN SOME OLD POSTS ARE NOT APPEARING, SHOWING BROKEN
LINKS FOR THE IMAGES (since the beginning of february either).
For example (in item 2), if we access a posted message and if we go to
read the posted text (web) (example: a link like http://groups.google.com/group/[name
of the group]//web/[name of the text] ), we can read the text, but
the
image inside is appearing as a broken link (for example:
http://groups.google.com/group/[name of the group]/web/[name of the
image].jpg) is a broken link.
Yet, if we try to access the image directly, using the full url of the
image, we are guided to a web page saying something like that "There
was an error while processing your request. It's not possible to show
this page. Try again in a few minutes. If the error persists, contact
Google Support".
Another fact related to this is that the image is somewhere in google
groups because of its upload: I explain: If I edit that page, remove
the image's broken link and insert it again from the google group
archive of images, now it shows ok. But, how??? It's the same image,
the same old link! And the image is there in the group archives.
Well, I hope you can read this soon and that you fix the problems as
soon as possible.
I'm still unable to create a google group because of the picture issue
(I can't see the verification picture: "Sorry, we are unable to handle
your request at this time, please try again later")
This is amazing.. 24 feb. and still no one solves all this group
troubles!
