In case anyone else finds this thread while having a similar problem,
I think I've figured it out. My guess is that you need to submit the
registration request using *exactly* the same URL under which your
gadget is in the iGoogle directory. I think I was omitting the www. -
which does resolve to the same gadget, but presumably doesn't match

You need to use something else. Cookies won't work.

Gadgets are displayed in iframes coming from a different domain than
the host page, and so Internet Explorer and Safari treat those like
ads and do not send cookie information on any request in that iframe.
The problem is not that makeRequest/OAuth are not preserving the

In the meantime i asume that there is a problem accessing the gadget
from iGoogle to
the Google Sites. From unknown reasons the URL forwarding from Google
Pages is not
working and also the xml file is not accessable from Google Sites. I
tried different
erdirection URLS @ Google Pages without any change in the behavior.

Error in API migration docs: _args -> gadgets.util.getParameters

Just to alert other gadget devs of an error in the Gadgets.* Migration
Guide document ([link]
migration.html)... The very first row of the table lists
gadgets.util.getParameters() as a replacement for _args(); problem is,
gadgets.util doesn't have a getParameters function. It's not listed at

I haven't tried this but can you get the cookie from your first
response (when cookie is created) and the re-submit it in the headers
of your subsequent requests?

Our gadget primarily uses OAuth to authenticate with our system and
uses gadget.io.makeRequest calls to do REST calls to our server .

Our production system which has a load balancer front-ending.
Our backend servers each have a cache which is specific to that JVM

I have the same problem. My gadgets were on pages.google.com, which
recently appears to have gone away. So they've automatically been
migrated to sites.google.com... can I get them moved in igoogle?
They're not showing up now.
