Subject: New section of Developer Guide: Improving Gadget Performance
We're excited to announce a new section of the Developer Guide:
Improving Gadget Performance!

This section is targeted at gadget authors who expect very large
numbers of users, and outlines many good practices for developing high-
usage gadgets.  Using these methods, your gadgets can serve millions
of users without putting excessive strain on your hosting provider or
external resources.

Some of the tips include:
* Ensuring that static external resources such as Flash and images are
cached.
* Including JavaScript and CSS inline if possible, to reduce the
number of extra HTTP requests required to load your gadget.
* Prefetching images so that they can be displayed quickly after the
gadget loads.

The new section can be found here:

Please have a look and reply with comments or suggestions!

-- Gordy
