Hello, I am using Google Browser Sync to synchronize bookmarks among 4 computers (home, work, etc). I just suddenly realize yesterday at work that a folder in my bookmark is missing ! Apparently for some reason Browser Sync removes them. The night before I was still accessing the content of the folder from my home computer so I know for sure that I did not delete the folder (and its content). This is a very bad bug causing the lost of data !
Luckily I have daily backups (on both my home and work computer). So when I got home I tried to just restore my Firefox profile folder from my daily backups. The problem is, after I do that when I start Firefox Browser sync would start automatically and then delete that folder again immediately. So the copy of my bookmarks on the server is messed up. This is a catch-22. If I try to uninstall / stop syncing, then copy the whole profile again from backup, when I start firefox browser sync will start syncing again (since that is the state at which the profile folder was saved). So, how do I completely remove everything on the server and refresh it from my local bookmarks ?
Topic and variations and workaround is discussed extensively in the old 'wrath of GBS' thread. You can often save your own time by searching before you write long queries. It's possible you might even notice a revealing pattern by comparing your problems with previously reported problems.
Anyway, the only reason I'm still using GBS is because of the password sync options--and I'm suspicious of that, too.

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to say I don't have a solution, but I quit using GBS quite a while back when it started deleting my bookmarks. I came here to find out if they ever fixed that . . . I guess not.
I hate to sound overly critical (I really do like Google as a whole), but they haven't touched this project since last year; why don't they just shut it down? It's too buggy to be a Google product.
