Hi all,
Thanks for trying out Google Browser Sync and for all of your
feedback. Creating a great browsing experience has long been a focus
for Google and we will continue to explore ways to make the experience
better, however, we have decided to phase out support for Google
Browser Sync. We often experiment with products and technologies that
may or may not graduate from Google Labs. Phasing out Google Browser
Sync was a tough call but we have decided to focus our efforts on
other products, like Toolbar and Gears, that also extend the
capability of multiple browsers. We've posted the code to Google Code
(http://code.google.com/p/browsersync/) in hopes that someone will use
it to develop something cool.
For those of you who want to continue to use Firefox 2, we'll maintain
support for old versions of Google Browser Sync through 2008. Beyond
that, and for users of FF3, there are a few other products available
that offer similar functionality. We hope that one of them works for
you (we've tried them all and think they're pretty cool!):
Mozilla Weave (http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/12/introducing-weave/)
from Mozilla Labs - Offers bookmark and history synchronization across
computers.
Google Toolbar for Firefox (http://toolbar.google.com) - Store your
bookmarks online and access them from any computer online.
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/
firefox/addon/2410) - Synchronizes your bookmarks across all computers
where it is installed.
