I upgraded to Google Desktop 5.0.0611.13328-en-pb this morning and since then Lotus Notes pops-up the following error whenever it checks for email on the server or replicates something.

Same here. Notes would crash after a few of the 'Assert' messages. Glad it's being looked into and hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

I upgraded my Google Desktop Enterprise this AM and have the same error:
nlnotes.exe Assert in LSP g_socket_data.Lookup(s) == 0 capture\lsp\nolsp\wsp_patches.cpp:1381
My Notes Config: -Notes 6.5.5 -Notes data (including my ini file) redirected to my profile -Windows XP SP 2 I work with a local copy of my notes mail file.
Error Conditions: I only see the error when Notes replicates. I can recreate the error at will by forcing a replication. I have local copies of several notes DBs and I get the error at the beginning of the replication cycle against each DB (including my mail file).
Troubleshooting Steps Taken: I removed all GDS entries in my notes.ini and removed the addin reference to notesgdsplugin.dll. I still get the error.
Interestingly, I can't find notesgdsplugin.dll in the Notes program directory nor can I find it anywhere on my PC.
Did you forget to compile notesgdsplugin.dll in the latest install, or have you moved on to a different integration method with Notes?
This issue seems separate from the Lotus Notes indexing or plugins. I noticed that if I remove the folder under Program Files with the GDS executables and libraries in it (in this case by sending it to the recycle bin), then Notes works without incident.
Also, this recycling is not possible when Notes is running, indicating that it has loaded a DLL inside this folder.
I'm wondering if someone from Google reads this thread and if they are working on this issue, or if we should go ahead and de-install Google Desktop...

I'm wondernig if *you* read this thread. Look at message 2.
you can get the old version here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_google_desktop_search/ just dowload version 4.2006.1008 on the right. it works for me, however, it's not the enterprise edition. i'm surprised google hasn't taken out the enterprise out of their servers yet, since mostly lotus notes users would get the most out of that version.
It still does the same thing. There is something that has been inserted into the address resolution workflow in Notes that is broken when GDS is installed.
