I use Outlook for my business email and Gmail for my personal email.
Yesterday I decided that I would try to set up my gmail account so I
could receive emails in Outlook and wouldn’t have to toggle back and
forth. I also wanted to set up Outlook so I could send email from
Outlook with my Gmail address.

To accomplish the first task I went to Gmail, Settings, and enabled
forwarding with a copy of the message being left in Gmail. That
worked perfectly. Then I went to Outlook, Tools, Email Settings and
added the Gmail account and that worked perfectly.

This morning when I went to my Gmail account there were not emails in
my Inbox although there were about 20 there when I last used it
yesterday. I checked other folders and labels and there were no
emails there either. So, I went to Outlook and I had received over
600 emails that had been sent from Gmail. Every email that I had in
Gmail was sent to my Outlook Inbox. I checked the Trash folder in
Gmail and all of the emails that were sent to Outlook were there.

How can I fix this mess I have created and get all of my emails back
in their proper place in Gmail? In order to try to stop this madness
I went to Gmail Settings and clicked Disable Forwarding and saved the
change. But, emails are still being forwarded. Please respond as soon
as possible so I can get my email life back together.

Thanks,
Bill Armistead
