Sorry, but you can't get them back. Once they are deleted forever
from the trash (which means you intentionally deleted them TWICE),
they are gone, forever. Really.
If you use Windows (or a Mac too, I think), it is similar to deleting
a file, then emptying the Recycle bin and scrubbing the space on the

I agree they are out of line for making fun of it, but it appears to
me to be clearly txt speak. As you say, this is a world-wide group,
and while broken English can be expected from non-native English
speakers, improper English from native speakers, becomes completely
unreadable for the non-natives. The seems so much like txt speak

This was clearly txt speak, that much is obvious and it is definitely
*not* appropriate and will result in flaming on any mailing list.
Nandita can also not see us through the Internet but has concluded
that we are indeed men, just as I can conclude that she is a woman as
Nandita is a girl's name.

Would you expect to be able to recover something you mistakenly threw
in a dumpster after the garbage truck has been through? Same idea.
Trash is supposed to hold messages you plan to get rid of. Once you
empty it, you are stating that you have no intention of even trying to
get them back.

Agreed with Sean. You guys are out of line making fun of it. If
someone is clearly using just txt speak or something, that's one
thing, but poor grammar on a world-wide group is not a big deal. The
message was understandable, that's the important part.

either. Not everyone has English as their first language so it's dangerous
to assume that poor spelling or grammar is the result of laziness or

you mean that you wanted to be able to restore emails after you deleted
them, or did you mean that you had deleted them, and then emptied the trash,
