What is a chat client I can use that will allow me to maneuver between
away (orange) status and available (green) status as I choose? Anyone
know of any? I tried Pidgin but it doesn't allow invisibility status,
which I want to keep as an option.

Pdgin lets you be invisible in gmail chat?? Mine won't! Do you know
if you have a certain version of Pidgin? Also, sometimes when I set
Pidgin to away status, it doesn't change my status as shown in gmail
chat.

Hm... I did some testing and it looks like you're right. It only shows the invisible option because I'm also signed into AIM. Setting it to invisible leaves Google talk on available.
If you're only using Google talk, then the official Google Talk client (http://www.google.com/talk/) should be able to do it just fine.

Yeah, but even accessing Google chat only through Pidgin it still left my status alone. If I disable AIM in Pidgin it no longer even gives me the option to go invisible.
