Is it possible to remove the name of a label?

Is it possible to remove the name of a label?   On the left side of the screen is a list of all the labels and one of the labels is no longer needed and I would like to remove it from the list but I can't figure out how to do this.

1. Click Edit labels
2. Find the label and select either rename or remove, based on what you want to do with said label.

Hey thanks.

I sure thought I had looked all over the page to find that "edit labels" button but missed it.   I guess one can't see the trees for the forest.
