One of my friends deleted my gmail account (it was a joke), but he didn't know that i couldn't register it again. Doing some search i read that it takes 9 months to recycle the id. I was wondering if there is someone i can email (admins or whatever) as this id is very very important for me.
The 9 months is an approximate amount of time. We have some that waited
that 9 months and it their username is still not avialable (this is
after an account was deleted).
Is there anyone to contact? you can try help @ google.com (i believe
that is the address)-- minus the spaces of course! But honestly it is
probably not very likely... Sorry.

Not a very funny joke. I'd advise a smack in the mouth for your "friend". Does he also steal money for a joke? He sounds like a dork and loser...
Well, that's what i get for checking my email at my friends house. I
sent an email both to "help @ google dot com" and "gmail-support @
google dot com" both of wich were greeted with an automated response.
Does anyone have any other address wich i can direct my request ?
Thanks for the answers.

Nope, they're your only hope; you need to reply to any automated response. I think your account is gone - the only thing you can do is draw a lesson from it and remember to use the "sign out" button - sorry!
Nine months is the amount of time after which an inactive account will be deleted. It is _not_ the amount of tme after which a deleted username becomes available again. For all we know, deleted usernames will never become available again. You can try to contact Google about it, but they likely won't be able to do anything. My best advice to you? Get new friends.

No, it's not the same principle at all. An email account gets deleted after nine months of inactivity, but the ID may never become available again. They are two completely separate concepts.
