You don`t have dupicate email it is the same email. gmail will only
have one copy so if you see it in your sent and inbox it is still
same copy. and it will not download to your email client.
I don't want to have my sent mail in my inbox. How do I get rid of
that. I think that's what Rich Chase was asking, and it's most
definitely what I want to know. It's annoying to have a message that
I send to a third party clogging up my inbox b/c I get copied on it.
And it it's just a "sent" message, then why is it in my inbox?!?!

This is occurring both in my inbox when I access it via my browser and
in my blackberry. It's crazy for sent mail to clog up the inbox -
very annoying!
If you receive in your inbox a copy of messages sent from your
BlackBerry device, you may wish to create a filter in your BlackBerry
Internet service account. For instructions on how to create a filter,
visit the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center

You can fix this using "Filter". Choose "Settings", then "Filter",
then follow steps to identify that you want to filter out email "From"
yourself, and have it bypass your inbox to go directly to "archive".
You can still see these messages by clicking on "All Mail", but they
won't automatically appear in your "Inbox".
I use gmail in my browser. I subscribe to a discussion list. When I
reply to a posting, my reply shows up twice. The first instance shows
the first few words of my reply, but when it's clicked on, the reply
is blank. The second copy, that actually contains the text doesn't
show up because it's part of the collapsed collection of previous
replies. I can't see my response unless I "Expand all". Since other
readers are probably not doing this, they all think I'm sending empty
replies.

I am having the same issue, only it just started in gMail, where
whenever I reply to an eMail it generates a copy back to my own gMail
Inbox. What I do not understand is the people that are saying, like
Whit33, that this is just how gMail works...that is, if I am
understanding them correctly.
I have had gMail for a long time (about a year), and it never worked
this way, before. It has just started doing this. While I have
created the filter, which I trust will work, I still challenge that
this is just how gMail works. Can someone please help me understand
this issue better? Perhaps it happened in a gMail upgrade, or
something?

My 'Sent Mail' is downloaded to my POP inbox
When you enable POP, all messages are downloaded to your client,
except for Spam, Trash, and Chats. If you don't want messages that you
send from the web interface downloaded to your mail client's inbox, we
suggest creating a filter within your client. You may want to contact
your mail client's customer service department for instructions on how
to categorize downloaded messages.
If you receive in your inbox a copy of messages sent from your
BlackBerry device, you may wish to create a filter in your BlackBerry
Internet service account. For instructions on how to create a filter,

I do not want to create a filter in my BIS. My family has 2 BB and I
work as a consultant with numerous companies who utilize Google as
their personal email and or calendar solely or in addition to their
BES accounts. What I need to know is how to disable this redundant
feature without altering any BB account or settings. Also this effects
any mobile POP3 interface. I have seen the same issue for Moto Q,
Moto Q9c, HTC Mogul (6800), HTC Touch (6900) as well as others. Some
of these devices do not have antiquity filtering features and I have
had several clients respond that this flaw is very annoying and
detracts from their business by tying up much needed memory
(Especially in the Windows OS devices). Also various of my larger
clients utilize multiple platforms to reduce back side client license
expenses. Therefore one set of filter instructions, or having multiple
users on multiple devices attempting various filter attempts, is not
plausible.
So here Is my question:
How can I shut off the redundant email issue on the Google side, so
that email sent from a mobile device or POP3 client, do not re-appear
in the accounts in box?

I too experience this "duplicate" problem. I use Thunderbird to create
an email and send it through the Gmail SMTP server. A copy is saved in
my Thunderbird Sent folder. Moments later I get a DUPLICATE copy in my
Thunderbird Inbox. These messages may not be duplicated on the Gmail
server, but they certainly are in every external email client. I want
to turn this "feature" off through Gmail, I have no control over it in
Thunderbird. As for creating a filter, this is a horrible solution. I
sometimes TO:CC:BCC myself. From what I read here, I can either have
ALL messages from myself turned off or ALL messages from myself
received in my Thunderbird Inbox. This feature in Gmail is relatively
new, I just started experiencing it.

I too am experiencing this annoying anomaly. I call it an anomaly
because that is exactly what it is. I have had this account for more
than 5-7 years and never experienced this behavior. I am receiving it
in both my inbox via web and client. I strongly suggest Google take a
closer look at this issue and take action. I propose they a) create an
option to keep a copy of sent mail in a sent mail folder (not in the
inbox and b) have the option of turning off like it used to be. I did
not have a client associated with my account now I do but when I
didn't I still received duplivates does that mean soemone has
established a client connection to my account.
