Yeah, okay okay... I know I am using Internet Explorer.

But can you provide some way(s) to disable the "Get faster Gmail"
alert?

Sound like stupid if it always appear at the top. Just like I will
never re-visit a page if it always ask me to download Firefox...

It's possible you are seeing is webclips.  Settings --> Webclips.
Untick the box that says 'Show my web clips above the Inbox'.

You can't disable that. It will automatically disappear in a few days.

Actually I don't think it does go away. It's been staring me in the
face when I log in at work forever. (And being at work is why it's
useless. I don't have admin privileges to upgrade a browser.)

it went away for me. mebbe it stay there for a while for non-upgraded
browsers. there is nothing you can do about it.
i guess they put it up there because of several recent complaints
about hanging, or slow gmail, when the real problem was that people
were using unsupported browsers.
