I find it an annoying change. It seems less professional to have a
lowercase i, and it's inconsistent with the rest of the links such as
Spam and Drafts.

Are you all serious or are you just drawing attention to your eagle
eyes?
You must get over this. If having a lowercase "i" on your inbox seems
less professional, stop using a beta e-mail service for your
professional needs. I seem to have heard something about Microsoft
and IBM selling "professional" e-mail servers of late (links below if
you don't know what I'm talking about). You might check one of them
out.
If you're looking for professional appearance on the cheap, change
your settings to US English and be done with it.

What? Are you for real? Who said any of us were professionals using
the Gmail service?
What have Lotus Notes and M$ Exchange got to do with anything?
Although, I have been meaning to set up an M$ Exchange server for my
personal email requirements.......................................
Most of the comments here are just pointing this lowercase thing out,
there isn't any reason for it to be lowercase

I noticed this today as well, it really confused me.
Appears not to affect all users though.
Although, cate0012, you are right, nobody really cares about the case
of a letter on a link on a free email service, you kind of missed the
point in replying; I don't think people really *mind* as much as they
are interested *why* it suddenly randomly changed.
It's like a little mystery we are all to solve....

yes I noticed it too, it bugs the sh*t out of me and it makes me feel
like a right loser that I even googled about it, found this group,
joined it and have posted this... back away from the keyboard.... good
lad.

I'm sure that this has got something to do with April 1st tomorrow.
Would not be surprised if tomorrow all the gmail service would be in
lowercase letters...
Or maybe I am totally wrong and it was just a google programmer who
wanted to say hello to attentive people all around the world ;)
I have 2 main accounts, and it's only happening with one of them. Too
lazy to check lang settings etc.
I does piss me off, but it pisses me off that it pisses me off, you
know? So I pretend I can ignore it til it goes away or is explained...
then I find myself posting here :P
It's been driving me bonkers all day! In addition, the "f" on my
"Friends" folder is lower-cased. "Family" and "Colleagues" are
capitalized, but not "friends". :-(
The only thing that's keeping me sane right now is knowing that I'm
not alone. ...
I agree, this must be an April fool, and it is bugging the hell out of
me even though it shouldn't. Maybe they are going to be funny and
launch an app in Google Labs to rectify it to encourage more people to
try them out. I'd enable it thats for sure!
