At my University they have changed to allowing only IMAP as the means
to access mails.
This means that when I want to upload my mails to Gmail, I need to use
the IMAP protocol.
However under settings->'Get mail from other accounts' the only option

Hello
I have had my Gmail account for a long time and never had any problems
before.
I usually receive in excess of 70 emails per day, but I have had none
since the weekend.

I entered all of my information correctly (to my knowledge) by
following the guide to setting up an account with Thunderbird, but
every time I try to retrieve my mail I get an error.

Cannot Fetch Mail - Error: "Server is temporarily unavialble."

For several days GMail has stopped fetching messages from my ATT
account. I continually get the same error message - "Server is
temporarily unavailable.
Server returned error "Error in RETR command: .""
I have tried deleting the account and reinstating it with no luck.
Any suggestions?

maximum of 10 concurrent connections per account.
I'm unclear if this is actually imposed per login (eg: if the 11th
