Hi everyone,
We've seen some reports of spam sent to Gmail Contacts. If mail has
been sent from your account, please perform the following steps to
ensure the security of your account. It is important to follow these
steps in the order below:
1. Scan your computer for malware. We've suggested some well-known
programs below that can detect and remove viruses, spyware, and other
malware. Please remember that we have no connection with these
companies and can't comment on their effectiveness. We can tell you,
though, that trying all of these programs often makes a difference, as
does having the latest versions.

- Spybot Search and Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
- MacScan: http://macscan.securemac.com/download.html (for Mac users)
2. Change your password and security question. Use a good, strong
password. Learn more here: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=29409
3. Check your Sent Mail folder for new spam, or ask your contacts
whether they've continued to receive spam from you. If spam is still
coming from your account after you have changed your password, please
report the problem: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?key=p_fGoeXooSQ4WNjqvmStpMw&...
We will read all reports and use the information to investigate, but
we cannot reply to individuals. Thanks for your cooperation and
understanding.
Best,
Sarah
