"Error in criteria" appears when trying to save a criteria in the Expression Dataset Manager

Problem:
Message "Error in criteria" appears when trying to save a criteria in
the Expression Dataset Manager.

Solution:
This is due to the field used in setting up the criteria being imported
incorrectly. In the Data Type Specification window, make sure only
fields with text data are designated as character data during import.
Any field to be used in any kind of numeric expression needs to be
imported as numeric rather than character data. Therefor, the entire
field must contain only numeric entries.
