Registration problem

I have installed the software X2, each time registering. I received
the key.dat files, copied to the appropriate directory - still not
registered. What else can I check? I installed to Programs/Gantt
Designer, but the Gantt.exe is in Windows/prefetch - that is where I
put the key.dat files. I am using "save as" on the attachment. Last
effort resulted in a windows message "command failed to execute"
Any help would be appreciated!

From Gantt Designer, click Help About Gantt Designer. The first line above
the OK button is the location where you must store the key.dat file.
