Hey Morrie and everyone,

I realized I had configured the new aerial source wrong, and it wasn't zooming nearly as well as it can.

If you have the CalTopo Aerial source added, delete it by swiping it in the map list, and then re-add it.

You will then have an additional couple zoom levels of depth! I also fixed the fact that it was only covering California.

Regards,
Andrew

What I tend to use the aerial photos for mostly is determining where
old mining roads go, as often they are easier to see in the photos
than on the ground (even when I'm on one!).  Unfortunately these
single-track roads are just a bit too fuzzy at the current resolution
to make out clearly in many circumstances.  Yes, at least twice the
resolution at 4x the cost would be needed.  I'd gladly pay extra to
get resolution equal to what Google Earth provides.

Good to hear! I will check out that spot again and see what Matt says - maybe it will be filled soon.

Excellent!  This is way better!  There's still that empty area at the location I mentioned (which is, unfortunately, right where I plan to go in a few months) but for the most part it's as good as Google, except in areas where Google has super-high resolution.

Morrie -

The missing quad at 38.4x-110.4 is fixed.  I think you'll have to delete the surrounding tiles and then redownload them in order for it to look right.
