I took the current store release of Gaia out on a hike today, and I found a very severe bug. The trip screen showed my position in all stats and this list appeared to be growing as I was recording my track. The program also got extremely unresponsive when zooming, moving the map, etc. Any ideas what could have caused this? I trie restarting the program, the phone, etc, but to know avail - the bug persisted and is still there.

Hey Kristian,

This is two different things:

1) I'm not sure about why it would be laggy. Did it crash when it got laggy? And did you have a long track?

2) For the trip screen issue, you can delete newSettings.txt from Gaia, via iTunes. I've also fixed that in the latest update.

Regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I'll try 2), or most likely wait for the update - I no longer use iTunes with my iPhone. As for 1), no the app didn't crash, so unfortunately I don't have a crash log. The trip wasn't that long - 8 miles and I used OpenStreetMap Cycle as the source where I had downloaded the map data before starting the hike. The app was slow already when I started my trip, but it got consistently slower as we progressed.

Hiking season is ON now in the North East, so I will have a lot more time to put Gaia through it's paces!
