I have seen several people say they have the same problem, but no solutions:
I published my site, worked great. Yesterday, I get the "could not be found 404" message. Different computers, browsers, all the same message. Is there a way to fix this or not?
I'm stumped too. I had my site working at http://djchuang.googlepages.com/ for many months, and just happened to notice today that is not working: "The page you have requested could not be found. (404)" error message shows on every page. I did not change my site ID, and browsing some other Google Pages, their site seems to work okay. Help?
I'm getting the same error on my page in the last 24 hours or so.. if I refresh repeatedly it will sometimes show up. It appears that it may be a load balancing system overload issue..
I am having the same problem. I cannot get to my site at all. "The page you have requested could not be found. (404)" is the message that is still coming up. What causes this? It's very annoying. I know I didn't go past my bandwidth or anything like that.
Also, I wish Google would put some sort of bandwidth meter inside Google Page Creator so you could know how much bandwidth your site is using each day. Yahoo! has one.
They are definitely published - about 2 days ago this happened just for a bit of time then everything was fine. Now it's all broken again. You can go in and edit pages, etc. But it seems like anything that is public facing is down - ie all my images I've uploaded are broken and when you try and view a page live it is broken as well.
The page you have requested could not be found. (404) The same and I have checked the status I have published Google has some problems Why no response?
Mine is currently back up, after being on and off intermitently for the last two days. I emailed support when it first went 404, before I knew how widespread the problem is.
I haven't received a reply, and with the amount of mail they probably got with this issue, I really don't expect one.
It's a way to submit a question or suggestion about anything Google-related. Sometimes, it is hard to find. I submitted a request that they post something on the Official Google Blog ( http://googleblog.blogspot.com ) about what caused our sites to go down for this extremely long period of time. A warning would have been nice. =)
Well, mine blinked off again, about three hours after my last post in this thread, and remains that way. That some sites are going up and down suggests to me that they're moving loads around, or having problems with individual servers. I'm starting to hear a lot of interesting theories, which is not surprising, considering the length of time this has gone on.
It's pretty clear that they're not going to be emailing out explanations, but this situation really points to the need for a site to check for 'known bugs and current issues'.
Half of the frustration in this is being left completely in the dark (so to speak).
Sorry for the double post, but my site just came up again (for those of you playing along at home). This time (the third), though, I'm not getting my hopes up.
I feel like all of this will be resolved tomorrow since things usually get done faster on weekdays, but who knows? My site goes back and forth, too, so I formed a whole new site just in case. I just hope this doesn't happen again.
