Hi Gary,
I think the drink and the weed are almost harder to completely give up in a way because the are more subtle yet insidious in their effect on you, plus of course your always at a higher risk of relapse to heavier drugs.
From what you've said, I'd guess ThamKrabok would be very useful to you, I know it has been for me.
Good luck mate,
Coxy

Hi Gary,
although there is a slight withdrawel from heavy cannabis use-
lasting 5 days to a week,in my experience (sleep disruption, minor
anxiety, depression, obsession ect.), the main problem is psychological
(as ultimately with ALL addictions). To Quote Phra Hans-
"...cleaning out the body is only 5%-the other 95% is psychological".
You'll NOT find any 'miracle cure' within the Vomiting
treatment, though it is an effective purgative(although if you think
you do-thats good enough!!) However, with the right approach, you may
find the Thamkrabok 'experience' most rewarding. Its the best place in
the world to de-tox from Anything (in my opinion). The surroundings are
most conjucive, the facilities appropriate and if you're willing to
take the effort to meditate and absorb some buddhist ideals-lets face
it you already have the minute you walk into the Hey in accepting
their treatment-then you may well benefit.
Just remember-TKB only offers the opportunity-you have to do the
'walking' yourself. It sounds like your issues require some deep re-
assessment within yourself, which can only come from you ultimately, and
a complete U-turn regarding some areas of your life.Thamkrabok is most
definately the place to initiate this.
If this drug is causing you problems and you think it is,then 'give
it the sack'!
I hope my opinions are use to you,if only to offer a differant
perspective.
Best Wishes and Good Luck.MFK

The Westerners during my time were dealing with a whole range of issues from opiates through to amphetamines, coke, alcohol, pot and perscription drugs. As Audrey says TMB deals with everything and in my experience does a fantastic job. I am in contact with my French friend and I'm sure he would be more than happy to contact you via e mail to let you know how he got on. I'm not sure he is a member of this group yet. Would you be happy for him to contact you via your e mail address? The decision to go to TMB was the single most important act I have ever made and I will be forever grateful to all the people there.
