Eligibility Criteria

1) Educational Criteria

B.E / B.Tech Degree from I.I.T or from a college recognized by AICTE / UGC/DEC

Age limit: Above not more than 24 yrs. The age limit is relaxable by 2 yrs in the case of female candidates. SC/ST candidates 5 yrs age relaxation.

Last date of  submission of the IGNOU application forms to Registrar (SRED), Post Box NO.2, IGNOU, New Delhi - 110068 is 31st may 205.

Invites applications from Unmarried Male & Female Graduates Engineers for Recruitment as TRAINEE  MARINE ENGINEER

Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture from AICTE approved Engineering college. Equivalent Degrees or Degrees with specialization or electives are not acceptable. Candidates must be in possession of valid degree in engineering certificate with minimum 50% marks in final year of Engineering and should have secured at least 50% marks in English language at Xth or 10 plus 2 level.

Age Limits: Maximum 24 yrs as on 1st January 2006. Candidates must be born on or after 01.01.1982 only.

Duration of training & Course Fees

The training is for 12 months and fees are Rs.175000/- at present. Candidates to pay for these fees directly to the training institutes. In addition candidates are required to Pay Rs.50000/-to SCI towards shipboard training fees prior joining a ship as Fifth Engineer Officer. This amount will paid upfront by SCI but will be recovered from monthly wage of the candidate once he goes for on board training.

Application Fees: Rs.800/- for general and OBC candidates Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates

Last date for receipt of Applications:
27th June 2005 till 1700Hrs.
All India Written Examination :
31st July 2005
Commencement of Training : 1st January 2006
