Hi folks,

Dylan points out that symplectic geometers are likely interested in this conference, too.  (It you're on the GT mailing list, you're getting this twice.)

Subject: conference next week

Dear Dylan,

The purpose of this email is to announce a conference honoring Sylvain Cappell's 60th birthday that will be held at the Courant Insititute March 17-20.

Besides scientific talks on "Singularities in Geometry and Topology" and an appreciation of Professor Cappell's work, there will be a festive banquet the evening of Wednesday March 19 that I expect that many of Sylvain's friends and colleagues will want to attend.

More details about the meeting can be found at the conference web page:  http://www.math.uchicago.edu/~shmuel/Cappelliday .
I'd appreciate it if you could spread this information with whoever you think might be interested, e.g. people who participate in your topology seminar.

I hope you can make it.

Sincerely (and thanks),

shmuel weinberger
