Subject: GoogleTalk not showing current music track
Hi! I installed GoogleTalk and it doesn't show the music track I'm
listening to. I DID check ''show current music track''. On my last
computer it worked (I had Windows XP and now I have Windows Vista).
Thanks!

 Hi

Windows Media Player is designed to disable all plug-ins (including
the Google Talk music status plug-in) whenever Windows Media Player or
your Windows desktop crashes. To re-enable the Google Talk plug-in:

   1. Open Windows Media Player.
   2. From the View menu, select Plug-ins > Options...
   3. From the Category section of the Plug-ins tab, select
Background.
   4. Select the Google Talk Music Plugin checkbox.
   5. Click OK.

You'll need to close and restart Windows Media Player for your change
to take effect.

Thanks
Rakesh

I had the same problem with yours.
1,Uninstall googlel talk;
2,Download the latest version;
3,Install as administrator
4,Do as this website says.(http://www.google.com/support/talk/bin/
answer.py?hl=en&answer=46532)
5,OK.

For those who have windows Vista and are not able to get the "Show
current music track" option working even after trying to install it as
Administrator

the problem is due to the security in Vista. You need to manually
register the dll which comes with google talk and supports the plugin
for windows media player.

1) Open Control Panel
2) Open User Accounts
3) Select "Turn User Account Control On Off"
4) and remove the checkbox next to "Use User Account Control to help
protect your computer"

5) Now you will need to restart the computer.

6) After restarting the computer .
You will need to locate the file "gtalkwmp1.dll"
7) After you locate the file right click on it and open the properties
for the file.
8) Copy the Path of the file
9) Now Click on Start
10) Click on Run
11) Type Regsrv32 (paste the path of the file you have copied here")
You should get a message which says that the dll was registered
succesfully.

Now turn the User Access Control On again from the control panel by
repeating steps
1-4 and clicking on the checkbox next to "Use User Account Control to
help protect your computer"
You will need to restart the computer again

And you are done. The "Show Current Music Track" Should work now.

Cheers!!
Rutvij
