1. SHABBAT SERVICES: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 9:30 AM AT WES

Fabrangen will hold its regular weekly Shabbat services on Saturday,
February 23, 9:30 a.m., at the Washington Ethical Society, 7750 16th
Street NW. Join us for a service filled with spirited singing and a
thoughtful discussion on Parshat Ki Tisah. Child care is available.

2. SHABBAT SERVICES AND CHILDREN'S PROGRAM: SATURDAY, MARCH 1, 9:30 AM
AT WES

Fabrangen will hold its regular weekly Shabbat services on Saturday,
March 1, 9:30 a.m., at the Washington Ethical Society, 7750 16th
Street NW. Join Fabrangen for a service filled with spirited singing
and a thoughtful discussion on Parshat Vayakhel. For children aged
5-12, Fabrangen offers a creative Jewish hands-on program on the first
and third Shabbat of each month.

Fabrangen will celebrate Purim with a reading of the Scroll of Esther
and a Purimshpiel on the evening of Thursday, March 20. Watch these

COMMUNITY EVENTS

4. NATIONAL HAVURAH COMMITTEE CHESAPEAKE REGION RETREAT, MARCH 21-23,
IN REISTERSTOWN, MARYLAND

Participants in havurot from across the Mid-Atlantic will gather March
21-23 at the Pearlstone Conference Center in Reisterstown, Maryland
for the National Havurah Committee's Chesapeake Retreat. The weekend
will include programming for adults and children, joyful singing,
soulful services, and learning sessions taught by participants. On a
weekend that includes Shushan Purim--a holiday observed only by
residents of (once) walled cities--we will explore our connections to
"place" and to the local communities in which we reside. For workshop

5. PURIM CONCERT & CARNIVAL, SUNDAY, MARCH 23,10:30 AM-12:30 PM, AT
THE SIXTH & I SYNAGOGUE IN DC

Join other Jewish families for Esther Sunday at the Sixth & I
Synagogue in Northwest Washington. Activities include hamentaschen-
making, carnival games, a sing-along with singer/songwriter Lisa
Baydush, a costume parade, food, and prizes, Tickets in advance are $6
per person or $18 per family; tickets at the door are $8 per person or

6. BIRTHRIGHT ISRAEL TRIP: PEACE, PLURALISM AND SOCIAL JUSTICE, MAY
19-30

7. INTERFAITH WITNESS FOR PEACE IN IRAQ, MARCH 7, IN WASHINGTON

Communities and individuals of all faith traditions and spiritualities
who are committed to ending the war in Iraq are holding an interfaith
witness in Washington, DC, on Friday, March 7. To get detailed
