1. SHABBAT SERVICES: SATURDAY, JANUARY 12

OPTION 1: WES AT 9:30 AM

Fabrangen will hold its regular weekly Shabbat services on Saturday,
January 12, 9:30 a.m., at the Washington Ethical Society, 7750 16th
Street NW. Join us for a service filled with spirited singing and a
thoughtful discussion on Parshat Bo. Childcare will be provided. For
directions, please see http://www.fabrangen.org/ .

REMINDER: During renovations, please enter the Washington Ethical
Society through the rear entrance.

OPTION 2: FABRANGEN WEST AT THE HOME OF BRACHA & JOHN LASTER, 10 AM

Fabrangen West will hold its monthly Shabbat services at the home of
Bracha and John Laster in Vienna, Virginia, on Saturday, January 12.
Services begin at 10 a.m. and are followed by a potluck vegetarian/
dairy lunch. Children of all ages are welcome. If you live closer to
this "satellite" location and enjoy davening in an intimate, home
setting, please join us. RSVP to Bracha and John Laster by leaving a
message on the Fabrangen answering machine at 202-595-9138.

2. SHABBAT SERVICES AND CHILDREN'S PROGRAM: SATURDAY, JANUARY 19, 9:30
AM AT WES

Fabrangen will hold its regular weekly Shabbat services on Saturday,
January 19, 9:30 a.m., at the Washington Ethical Society, 7750 16th
Street NW. Join Fabrangen for a service filled with spirited singing
and a thoughtful discussion on Parshat Beshallach. For children aged
5-12, Fabrangen offers a creative Jewish hands-on program on the first
and third Shabbat of each month.

3. JEWISH STUDY CENTER WINTER SESSION BEGINS JAN. 28

The Jewish Study Center's winter 2008 session begins in January with
classes in Chinatown, Cleveland Park, and Dupont Circle. Among the
classes offered are "Israel through a Different Lens," taught by Lloyd
Wolf; "'Old' and 'New' Israeli Historians and 'Post Zionists'" (Paul
Scham); "Jewish Farmers in America" (Scott Hertzberg and Mike Tabor);
and "Shedding Light on Havdalah" (Norman Shore). For more information,

4. READING TORAH THROUGH THE EYES OF A MYSTIC, JAN. 27-MAR. 30

The winter semester of Reading Torah Through the Eyes of a Mystic
(from Sunday, January 27, through Sunday, March 30, 11:30 a.m. -1:30
p.m., in Silver Spring) examines the Torah portion of the week using
the mystical lenses of the Zohar, the Sfat Emet, and Rabbi Shefa Gold.
