FMS Global News Fibromyalgia and Related Illnesses News Discussion
Group. Discuss the latest news topics and how they relate to the global
Fibromyalgia Community. It is estimated that Fibromyalgia Syndrome
affects from 3-6% of the worlds population and can strike any age group
or nationality. While the majority of Fibromyalgia sufferers are women,
this disabling condition can strike men and children and knows no
ethnic, geographical, or racial boundries. A great deal of money is
lost annually to decreased production due to this devistating illness.
To date the International Fibromyalgia Community has focused on
awareness of the illness and May 12th has been proclaimed International
Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.
As we fill the gap in awareness, it becomes a more pressing need daily
to begin working toward a cure for this painful and disabling condition.
