Alzheimer's groups

The Ashdown Support Group will meet at 2 p.m. today at Little River
Nursing & Rehab, 450 West Locke St.

The Daytime Support Group will meet at 2:30 p.m. today at the
Alzheimer's Alliance Office, 911 N. Bishop St., Suite C110.

The Miller County Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. June 27 at Arkansas
Nursing and Rehab, 2107 Dudley in Texarkana, Ark.

Attention deficit

Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
parent support group meets from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and adult support
group meets from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of every

Bereavement

CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System's W. Temple Webber Cancer Center
offers a Life After Loss support group twice a month in the center,
2600 St. Michael Drive. The meetings are held the second and fourth

GriefShare Recovery Seminar and Support Group meets at 5:30 p.m.

Birth control

The Texarkana-Bowie County Family Health Center offers complete
reproductive health services for men, women and teens. These services
include birth control methods (pills, depo shots and tubals), pregnancy
testing, Pap smears, counseling, STD testing and treatment and referral
for other services. Many people are eligible for these services on

Blood pressure

Cypress Home Health provides free blood sugar and blood pressure checks
to seniors from 10:30 to 11:30 the fourth Monday of each month at the
Collins Memorial Senior Center.

The Visiting Nurses Association of Northeast Texas offers free blood
pressure checks to all seniors at 2 p.m. every Tuesday at Cowhorn Creek
Estates, 5415 Cowhorn Creek Road. Call 903-794-3102.

Homebound Healthcare will offer free blood pressure checks from 11 a.m.
to noon the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Collins Memorial Senior
Center, 3000 Texas Blvd.

Texarkana HomeCare will offer free blood pressure checks from 11 a.m.
to noon the third Tuesday of each month at the Collins Memorial Senior
Center, 3000 Texas Blvd.

Best Care Home Health will offer free blood pressure checks from 11
a.m. to noon the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Collins Memorial
Senior Center located at 3000 Texas Blvd.

Brain Injury Group

CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System presents a brain injury support
group that meets the fourth Friday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. in

Breast cancer program

The Arkansas Breast Care Program can provide: free mammograms, free
clinical breast exams, free pelvic exams and pap test, free or small
co-pay for follow up treatment if needed. Women who are Arkansas
residents, age 40 and over, and meet the income eligibility
requirements can call toll free 1-877-670-CARE for information and to

Cancer groups

The Wadley Breast Cancer Support Group Dialogue meets at 5:30 p.m. the
third Thursday of each month in the Wadley Breast Health Center, Olive
Street entrance. Lesa Warren, licensed social worker and American
Cancer Society-trained group facilitator, will conduct the meeting and
program activities.

The "For Men Only" prostate cancer support group meets at 6 p.m.
the second Tuesday of each month at the W. Temple Webber Cancer Center

Dialogue, a cancer support group, meets at 5:30 p.m. the last Tuesday
of each month in the W. Temple Webber Cancer Center, CHRISTUS St.

by the American Cancer Society and the W. Temple Webber Cancer Center.

Cancer presentation

AHEC Southwest hosts "The Cancer Puzzle", a presentation by Dr.
Ahmed Safar via UAMS interactive TV network from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. June
27. Researchers are now looking at new ways of treating cancer based on
the individual aspects of the cancer. Because cancers are diverse,
researchers are creating treatments that target the cancer based not
only on its stage and location, but also on its biology and potential
weakness. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. For more

CPR

The American Red Cross offers basic and instructor level classes in
basic CPR, Professional Rescuer CPR, First Aid, Life-guarding, water
safety and baby-sitting. Weekday and Saturday classes are available.

Texarkana College offers CPR and First Aid classes through the American
Heart Association for healthcare professionals, childcare providers and

Diabetes

CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System presents a diabetes management
program at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month and again at
2:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in Suite 201 of the
