NSC sponsors on EBCList
Dearest EBC Members: One of the important parts of the North Shore Century is our sponsors. While our sponsors participate to support us in our charitable endeavors and because they are all-around generous people, they are also in business. Specifically, some of the bike shop sponsors would like us to post an occasional notice on this mailing list. The EBC board has agreed to allow a limited number of bike related advertising messages for NSC sponsors each year (maximum 4 each). Jeff Miller has agreed to serve as the gatekeeper for these ads.... more »

Several EBC members have responded to calls for their help, and... more »

Tuesday Moderate Ride May 13, 2008
We are scheduled to ride to the Northbrook Velodrome this Tuesday. Our round trip will be about 30 miles. There will be plenty of time for people to do a few laps on the velodrome or to practice track stands. We'll lunch at Georgie V's. At this point the weather forecast for Tuesday is very promising, sort of a... more »

birding ride canceled
It is an unpleasant day for humans and beasts. All the weather web sites agree that this is likely to continue. Severe weather is possible. It would appear to be a good day to stay home to read the Sunday paper or clean your chain. I am canceling the birding ride scheduled for 7 AM on Sunday, May 11,... more »

route planning question - Chandler to end of Green Bay Trail in Wilmette?
A question for my fellow ride leaders, What's the best way to lead a slow ride from Chandler to the south end of the Green Bay Trail, across Forest St. from the fire station in Wilmette? It's much too late to relocate from Chandler to Panera. As stated in my previous post, on Saturday I'm leading a Botanic Garden ride, with only one lake view this time. Normally I'd take Sheridan to the beach in Gillson Park by the Bahai Temple, but not this year.... more »

05/17 Sat 9:00AM - Botanic Garden, via only ONE view of Lake Michigan
05/17 Sat 9:00AM 24 mile Slow ride BOTANIC GARDEN, via only one view of Lake Michigan~ Chris Wilson I still love to look at our lake, but we can only pass through ONE lakefront park on our way north, because of the Sheridan Road construction in Wilmette. But, we will still execute TWO legal U-turns on the route. After 12 miles, we'll stop for lunch at the Botanic Gardens cafeteria -- you can bring your own if you wish.... more »

EBC Garden Ride-Gardens Wanted!
Would you like to give a tour of your garden to fellow EBCers? Do you have a friend or neighbor who would welcome a group of admirers to their garden?
