Saturday weather looks great!
More details on the ride:
7 am departure from Panera Wilmette, total about 110 miles. First
scheduled stop in Wauconda (gas station/convenience store) at about 38
miles. BRIEF lunch stop at 65 miles (Culvers). Another short stop at
around 90 miles.
17-19 mph pace on the flats, rolling hills for the most part; 1 long steep

The closest motel is the Super 8 and I've been told that the reservations made on-line cost less than those made by calling the motel directly.

Yes we've done this ride as a club before and enjoyed it very much.

Also interested in going with a friend of mine. We used to get rooms at a nearby hotel. Very reasonable. But don't remember the name. DON'T RECOMMEND THE "GYM"

Let me know and if anyone remembers the hotel please pass it on.

This Tuesday (7/22 at 9:00 AM) we are scheduled to ride to Lambs Farm. We'll
take a scenic route on the way there, and we'll be more direct on our return
route. Our total distance will be about 50 miles.
The long term weather forecast for Tuesday is great – low of 60, high of 76,
mostly sunny, with a 20% chance of precipitation.

The ride list doesn't have details on the ride,; here they are:
The Saturday 7/19 ride to Barrington Hills departs from Panera in Wilmette
at 7 am, and is a 91 mile ride with 2 scheduled stops - one at a Walgreens
at about 28 miles, and a lunch stop at Einsteins in Barrington at 65
miles.
This is a 16+ MPH ride - truth in advertising, most likely we'll be doing

Participate in the Evanston Criterium Bike Race

Bike racing comes to Evanston Sunday.

There are at least 3 ways to participate.

1. Get a one-day racing license and enter yourself!

2. Volunteer at the EBC table. This will be in the Evanston Review
tent, presumably sheltered a bit from the sun. This is also near the
VIP volunteer area, rumored to have refreshments.

Disc Golf ride Saturday, August 2

I am sending a reminder for the Disc Golf Ride. We will leave
Chandler and take an easy pace up to Watts Park in Glencoe. This park
is on our normal club route from the Green Bay Trail to downtown
Glencoe. If the group is interested we can ride up to Fink Park
which is off of Clavey Rd. and play a second park. Both are 9 hole

Folks:
This week's proposed ride is to the Northbrook Velodrome, from Chandler at 9 AM. After discussing when to schedule this with some riders last week, we were asked to arrange the ride for this week. For those who have not gone there before, the route is basically flat roads to Northbrook. At the velodrome, you can ride the loop as many times as you choose.
