Attached, please find the Minutes from EGR's conference call, Thursday afternoon, 8/14/08.

Here are a few highlights:

 

  I.                    Kevin Jones – MDG Mapping Project

This project is building software to collect and display data to answer "who is doing what about the MDGs" - locally and internationally, in dioceses, parishes and by teams within parishes.  It is going well and now volunteer parishes are needed to use the software to help define its applications.

 

       II.             Prayers  and Reflections – special intentions for Tammy Gordon and Dayan Jewson's mom

 

III.                    ERD/EPPN update

ERD had an effective presence at the Lambeth Conference, education about the "Nets for Life" program was advanced; the "Gifts for Life Catalogue" is being prepared and Charity Navigator gave ERD a 4 Star rating, their highest possible for charitable organizations.

 

VI.                    Movement update from EGR – Mike Kinman, et. al.

a.       Sept. 25^th

Sept. 25^th is a high-level meeting about the MDGs at the U.N.  with opportunities for conversations between society and religious organizations.  We'll use the address – www.sept25.org -- as the easy link to our website. 

a.       U2charists

Consistently the most active pages on our website, we will be making them as complete and useful as possible.  Please send us anything regarding U2charists, posters, etc., so we can add them to the website and further prepare what we can bring to educate and engage people at the General Convention.

b.      General Convention Wiki

People are contributing ideas of how to make each MDG come to life.  We encourage you to go to http://tinyurl.com/5rjxpa and contribute your ideas.  We will be going to youth leaders within the church to ask if they will dedicate one meeting, at least, to this MDG and to share with us any ideas and resources they may develop.  We will include these on our web page so all may benefit.

c.       EGR  and the Anglican Church of Canada

More and more we'll ask how we can share and transfer what we're doing in the States and elsewhere with our Canadian friends.  They found our work through the growth of the Virtual March at Lambeth.  They continue to want to engage with EGR and build what we are trying to do to help the MDGs be realized.
