1.Linux Systems Administrator

Location: Victoria, BC

Duration: 1 year

As a Systems Administrator the proponent will be responsible for performing all operational aspects relating to "Linux Administration". Under the guidance and supervision of the Corporation_s Senior Systems Administrator, Linux, ESX and Storage, the proponent_s primary focus is supporting the Corporations_ Linux systems using new and emerging technologies.

The proponent will have experience with Novell SUSE and/or RED HAT products (or very similar product lines) and environments including;

o Standard Operating Systems,

o Enterprise Operating Systems,

o Environments supporting Oracle databases

o Virtualized environments.

Operational Tasks:

Operational activities and tasks that will be assigned to the proponent and that the proponent must be able to perform include, but are not limited to:

o Firmware and Software upgrades to data centre components, within a scheduled outage window

o Integration of changes into the Corporation_s security infrastructure, including collaborating with Security staff in relation to the corporate security appliances and management of server and storage accounts for authorized user access.

o Hardware monitoring for performance and diagnosis of degradation of service

o Troubleshooting hardware problems, degradation or failures.

o Participation in corporate Disaster Recovery testing

o Participation with data centre staff in reviewing, analyzing, discussing and collaborating on upcoming operational activities

Mandatory Skills:

The proponent must match or exceed the qualifications and skills listed below. Indicate the number of years of experience for each listed qualification or skill:

o 2 years of IT related experience; specific to Linux Systems Administration

o 1 year practical Data Centre Linux Systems Administrator experience: supporting and managing an environment connecting over 25 servers to 100 or more desktops across multiple VLANS.

o 3 years proven success in gathering, analyzing and documenting requirements for complex operational processes and activities

1 years proven experience in implementation planning and testing

2.Senior Business Analyst

Location: Calgary

Duration: 3 years

Primary objectives of the Senior Business Analyst include:

·

Act as liaison and primary interface between ICD business and IT delivery teams

·

Capture the business objectives associated with the decommissioning of ICD_s mainframe application portfolio

·

Engage the subject matter experts in the business unit to clearly define and document functional requirements and business processes

·

Develop and manage detailed business project plans for business activities related to the project

·

Raise and/or facilitate resolution to any issues between the projects and/or business groups

·

Enable a successful implementation through effective change management

Coordinate the activities of various teams and stakeholder groups ensuring that work is completed within the project schedule, effectively utilizing the time and skills of the participants

The role of the Senior Business Analyst includes the following:

·

Develop business project documentation and plans (e.g. charter, business case, business process)

·

Document detailed business requirements (e.g. business processes including "As Is/To Be", functional specs, reporting specs)

·

Meet with stakeholder groups to identify and document current processes and challenges, best practices, and improvement opportunities

·

Identify and document detailed key stakeholder functional requirements and expectations

·

Coordinate, facilitate and support user testing with subject matter experts

·

Report project related details to the project team within the defined schedule (e.g. weekly) pertaining to progress, scope changes, risks and issues

·

Communicate with key stakeholders to obtain buy-in and ownership of the new business systems and process changes

Determine organizational readiness and identify approach to address gaps including procedures manuals, training course and organizational change

3.System Test Lead

Location: Edmonton

Duration: 2 years

The main focus of the contracted resource will be to provide system testing expertise to these projects. Other activities may include participating in the extended project management team. In general, key aspects of the role are:

Coordinate the scheduling, managing system test resources, test execution and verification of results;

Identifying and documenting test cases;

Ensuring system test coverage is complete and all required system test cases have been produced.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a proven ability to function within a team. The candidate must also possess excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities may include:

Preparing test plans, defining the scope, objectives and schedules for testing business applications during the business application life cycle;

Planning resource requirements and usage (test databases, scheduling, etc.) with the Project Manager;

Preparing a technical test template;

Leading the system test team and effort, ensuring all system testing has been performed and the results documented;

Reviewing class diagrams to identify required technical test cases;

Working with Project Manager(s) and System Testers to manage system defects and changes;

Executing test cases and documenting test results;

Ensuring change management procedures are followed

Liaising with the lead architect(s) and development analysts;

Adhering to quality assurance guidelines and maintaining quality assurance on all deliverables;

Providing on-call support on an as-needed basis.

Status reporting to the Project Manager(s) as required.

The standard workweek is comprised of five (5) days at 7.25 hours per day.

4. .NET Application Developer

Location: Calgary

Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities will include:

·

Implement software solutions and reusable components based on the practices defined by the Rational Unified Process;

·

Employ Rational Software Modeler (RSM) to capture analysis and design requirements;

·

Work within an iterative environment;

·

Develop .NET code and SQL Server stored procedures utilizing the framework adopted by ERCB;

·

Work with ESRI ArcGIS / ArcObjects.

The key aspects of the role are:

·

Coding to documented requirements, design specifications, and architecture;

·

Contributing in analysis realization and leading the design realization process;

·

Working with COM+;

·

Developing and optimizing software batch processes to manipulate large sets of data;

·

Having equally solid .NET web and windows forms development skills;

·

Creating appropriate documentation;

·

Working in partnership with business analysts to ensure that there is suitable transition from design to development;

·

Achieving an understanding of the business objectives as it relates to system development.

5. Test Specialist

Location: Calgary

Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities will include:

·

Collaborate with the Test Lead in developing performance test scripts;

·

Follow the methods, practices and guidelines defined in the RUP Methodology

·

Assist the project managers/leads and development teams in implementing test driven development practices;

·

Conduct performance benchmark testing and gather and report performance metrics;

·

Prepare and rollout to program test teams usage guidelines for reusable test scripts library;

·

Collaborate with Business Analysts and Test teams in creating Test Plans, Test Scripts for solutions being developed;

·

Gather and report performance metrics;

·

Collaborate with the solution architect in developing automated configuration and installation test scripts that will be executed prior to deploying solutions to Development and Production environments;

·

Work with the Project Team in developing automated smoke test scripts as part of the Build-Deploy-Smoke Test process for Development environments;

6. Java Programmer Analysts

Location:

Saskatchewan

Duration: 2 years

SCOPE OF WORK REQUIREMENTS:

The successful resource(s) will be required to:

Participate in development of a Java Systems Development Environment (SDE) for the ITO. Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop a detailed set of requirements for the development environment. Provide mentoring and training services on the use of the Java SDE. Provide troubleshooting services. This individual will be called upon to resolve difficult procedural and technical problems. Design solutions that meet the needs defined during the requirements phase. Design solutions will require the use of Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle data base components. Design and conduct testing activities to ensure that application components meet stated requirements.

RESOURCE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Thorough knowledge and routine use of: - Java, JavaScript , HTML, PL/SQL

Minimum five (5) years full-time work in a Java Application Development environment, including experience with environment configuration and package build and deployment. Responsible for, or had major roles in, Java Application Development projects of all sizes. Responsibilities included incorporating Oracle database components and principles into a design solution. Demonstrated experience with both large and small projects that incorporate Java, JavaScript, HTML and PL/SQL. Experience included application development "best practices" such as requirements reviews, design reviews, code reviews, testing strategies. Proven ability to communicate with clients and end users to identify requirements and resolve issues/problems. Proven experience in application maintenance and support, including technical problem diagnosis and resolution, and release management practices.

7. Business Analyst

Location: Calgary

Duration: 3 years

Responsibilities will include:

·

Through the use of business process modeling tools, gather, document, and analyze information relating to improvement of business processes and/or products made available to the public.

·

Contribute to the preparation of project charters, ensuring that the necessary business analysis components are adequately incorporated

·

Assist in the design, preparation and implementation of JAD (Joint Application Design) sessions

·

As the liaison between Information Services and stakeholders, proactively conduct interviews with project stakeholders to elicit functional requirements, modeling those requirements in an organized manner, then managing and communicating the requirements and findings throughout the project lifecycle.

·

As project team member develop test cases, identify test data, conduct testing and consolidate results.

·

Conduct research on precedents/similar processes/products in the marketplace, prepare comparative analysis and recommendations on potential implementation.

·

Develop an understanding of the vision and strategy for information dissemination to ensure alignment of tasks and project deliverables

·

Prepare communication/training materials and give presentations to a variety of audiences

·

On a per project basis, reports to a Project Manager or an Information Dissemination Analyst in the implementation of business and change initiatives.

·

Carry out other related responsibilities as required
