Does anyone else get the feeling that parking downtown, especially on
Temple St., is getting worse every day?

Store owners keep complaining to me, the red and yello hooded meters
outnumber the non-hooded ones on Temple, and, at other times, cars and
SUVs are parked where it is clearly labeled "No Parking Anttime", and
nothing seems to happen to them.

People can't run in to a store to get a sandwich they ordered over the
phone or drop off or pick up shoes at the shoe repair. Handicapped
folk can hardly have use of Temple at all--uinless they have lotto-
type luck getting one of the few handicap spots, which might still be
a long way from their destionation. And, of course, all the spaces
across from the medical bldg. appear to have been sold off to the
valet services and are still hooded at night on weekends.

With all the talk about economic development, people I know are
telling me they "hate" coming to NH because of the pasrking. Two have
even reported how rudely they were treated by garage attendants.During
the Festival, events on Chapel, such as at the School of Arts, were
difficult to reach because of all the hooded meters.

NH needs to be a little more inviting and hospitable.

What do you think?

I'm fortunate in that I can walk downtown.

However, if it's raining or snowing heavily, I simply go elsewhere for whatever I need. I have given up EVER attempting to park and shop downtown. It's impossible. I agree - the hooded meters are the most irritating.

I prefer shopping downtown - but if the weather has dictated that I must get into the car, I go to where I can park.
