Dear all,

With concern regarding the recent violent events that have transpired in the city and specifically downtown (see bottom for details) our Public Safety Sub-Committee has met with Downtown Alderwoman Bitsie Clark and will be scheduling meetings with Police District Manager Lt. Tchakirides, business owners, residents, and the Mayor's office in the near future to discuss what needs to be done proactively to prevent future incidents.

We will provide a full update at our next scheduled general meeting on July 15th at 6pm in City Hall.

In the mean time you can share your concerns, suggestions, and comments online at http://groups.google.com/group/DWSCMT.  If you are interested in becoming involved and working with the Public Safety Sub-Committee please contact us at DWS...@gmail.com

You can also bring your concerns to Mayor's Night In on Tuesday, July 1st.
