  Did you try muting the voice track and listening? &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;One more thing to think about. You might have some filters on those sound &lt;br&gt; tracks that are causing a problem. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;It sounds like it might be some sort of copy protection beep to me.   <title type="text">FCP question - sudden honking sound</title>

  hi fellows, &lt;br&gt; I wonder if anyone has encountered this problem with FCP? &lt;br&gt; I am editing a regular timeline - meaning two voiceover tracks, with a &lt;br&gt; music cut underneath. During playback in one section, there is a &lt;br&gt; sudden, very loud honking sound that plays for about 1/3 seconds. It &lt;br&gt; doesn&#39;t happen all the time, and its not exactly in the same place

  I understand fully and i will take your advice. I`ll try to enhance my light &lt;br&gt; with the iris. I was using high gain and that explains all the noise. I also &lt;br&gt; set my camera to 720p/60p instead of 1080/60i. We will see how it works in &lt;br&gt; the field this evening. Thank you for the help.

  Okay, but you should keep in mind that it is much easier to boost &lt;br&gt; an under exposed shot up to decent levels in post, than rescue an &lt;br&gt; over exposed shot. Running in high gain, you risk blowing out &lt;br&gt; some highlights, and even if you bring the levels down acceptably &lt;br&gt; in post, you will never get that lost detail back. If you can see

  Maybe, though I bet it&#39;s designed to take 120V, and it must be sealed. &lt;br&gt; Anyway, a bigger problem for people on this list might be the *shape* &lt;br&gt; of the light it casts. Presumably, like an incandescent, it&#39;s made to &lt;br&gt; throw a lot of light off to the sides; not at all what you want in an &lt;br&gt; on-camera light. You want all your light to get thrown in a 16X9

  Ahh that might have been the problem. I was using high gain. I dont have the &lt;br&gt; luxury of doing a lot of in post editing due to the fact most of my shoots &lt;br&gt; are news related and they buy the video raw. So i have to have it some what &lt;br&gt; ok looking.

  iris wide open will not increase noise. Using H gain, or even the &lt;br&gt; middle setting, will introduce lots of noise.

  I don&#39;t know your Canon, but while I hear the HMC is okay in lower light &lt;br&gt; compared to other small cams, I&#39;m coming from broadcast cameras and it&#39;s &lt;br&gt; not all that impressive. However, you want to make sure you are shooting &lt;br&gt; manual, with the Gain switch set to L. Noise-wise, I think you&#39;ll be &lt;br&gt; better off shooting a little darker picture and lightening it up in post

  OK,OK. Bad idea. I&#39;ve replaced VHS shells (held together with tiny screws) bad for good to use for timeshifting TV shows, so I figured... Well, anyway, I spoke to the couple last night and gave them a price which included covering the adapter and transfer fee. We&#39;ll see. Hope everyone enjoyed the melodrama. LOL!
