Hello Cub Scout Leaders, Three items of importance are contained in this e-mail. They are: Yours in Scouting, Roundtable Reminder, Thursday, November 13 Please join us for the November Roundtable meeting this Thursday beginning at 7:15 PM at Noblesville First United Methodist Church (2051 Monument Street). Invite another Adult Leader from your Pack to join you. Our theme this month is cross over ceremonies and Scout accounts. Cub Scout Leader Training Reminder, November 13 Our final Cub Scout Leader Specific training opportunity of 2008 is scheduled for this Thursday from 6 to 9 PM at Noblesville First United Methodist Church (2051 Monument Street). These trainings are for both new and veteran leaders that have not already completed it for their current positions. Den leaders, assistant den leaders, Cubmasters, assistant Cubmasters, committee chairs, and committee members should all take training appropriate for their registered position. Leaders planning on attending this training do not need to RSVP. They simply need to arrive at the training location and check in at the door. There is a $5 fee per per person for the community trainings. This fee should be paid at the time of check in. More information may be found online. Summer Camp Promotion Materials Promotion materials for 2009 Summer Camp is now available. If your pack didn't already pick it up at Pow Wow, we'll have it beginning at this month's roundtable. Prairie Valley Firecrafter would be happy to come to one of your Den meetings and talk with your Scouts (and their parents) about Boy Scout Summer Camp at Ransburg Scout Reservation near Bloomington. Summer camp is an integral part of the Boy Scouting year, and the early bird deadline is very near to Crossover time. Many times, Scouts cross over into Boy Scouts and immediately have to make a decision about summer camp. It is our experience that Scouts who do not attend summer camp their crossover summer too often do not stay in Scouting. Likewise, Scouts who do not have a good time at summer camp do not stay in Scouting. Our proposal is simple: we will bring a very short Ransburg promotional video, and both youth and adult Ransburg staffers who are members of Firecrafter. We will talk to the Scouts about the wonderful times they will have (and they will!) and help answer questions that the parents may have. If you would like this presentation, call or e-mail Sally Byer, Firecrafter Ember Advisor at sall...@gmail.com or 432-6757. We look forward to being of service to you!
