Governor's Luncheon for Scouting--Youth Volunteers Needed and Live Video Feed

Hello Del-Mi District Volunteers,

As many of you are already aware, the annual Governor's Luncheon for Scouting is scheduled for this Thursday from Noon until 1:30 PM at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. To kickoff the event, approximately 30 Scouts will be participating in an opening ceremony in front of the 1,200 plus attendees and the online video feed at www.crossroadsbsa.org/live.  Unfortunately, some units that had previously committed to provide youth have backed out, and we are now in need of locating 12 more youth--6 Cub Scouts and 6 Boy Scouts--to represent Scouting.

The Scouts will be expected to arrive at Conseco Fieldhouse no later than 9:00 AM in their Scout uniform.  They will be finished between 1:15 and 1:30 PM.  The boys will be fed lunch and may have the opportunity to meet Governor Mitch Daniels after the event.

A letter is available to be given to the Scout's school requesting that his absence be excused.  Just mention that you would like it when responding to this e-mail.

If any of your Scouts are willing to represent Scouting at this event, please reply to this e-mail with the boys' names and contact information.  The first 6 Cub Scouts and 6 Boy Scouts will be given the opportunity to participate.  We will notify you regardless.

Arrival Time:  No later than 9:00 AM

Lunch will be provided for the Scouts.

Dress:  Please wear the full field uniform (Class A) including the Scout shirt, pants, belt, and socks. If no Scout pants, a nice pair of jeans would be appropriate.  RFT and Exploring youth should wear appropriate clothing for the event since they do not have a uniform.
