This is a thread for the BarCampBank organized inquiry for P2PMoney.
Please help us answer the following questions:

Questions we are currently asking:

- "What technology currently exists that resembles our P2P money
requirements at P2PMoney http://www.wikiservice.at/fractal/wikidev.cgi?EN/BarCampBank/P2PMoney,
and how does it function?"

- ""Who is interested in P2PMoney oriented concepts, and how does
their interest resonate with our current requirements at P2PMoney
http://www.wikiservice.at/fractal/wikidev.cgi?EN/BarCampBank/P2PMoney?"

You can answer right here in this thread, or you can use tags in
del.icio.us or ma.gnolia as described here:

http://www.wikiservice.at/fractal/wikidev.cgi?EN/BarCampBank/P2PMoney...

All answers are welcomed and encouraged. The more perspectives and
ideas, the better. Best candidates for existing technologies will be
summarized at http://groups.google.com/group/barcampbank/web/p2pmoney-industry-watch
and all links, answers and input from all sources will be summarized
on a future page at both http://groups.google.com/group/barcampbank/
and http://www.wikiservice.at/fractal/wikidev.cgi?EN/BarCampBank/P2PMoney...

Thank you!

Here's some less technical and more general community oriented
questions that this community might have answers to:

- Are you part of a virtual community and do you feel a need for
pooling financial resources or sharing revenues? If yes, what
solutions are you currently using for achieving this?

- If you are not satisfied with current solutions, what are the key
features that are missing?

- Do you participate in a project that could use a platform
implementing payment pooling and revenue sharing?

In the Brainstorms community ( http://www.rheingold.com/community.html) we have two funds, one to pay for server costs, and the other to benefit members in financial trouble. Over the past 8 years, we've paid out around $20,000 to people in need. We rely on voluntary contributions, voluntary repayments of these grants, and fund-raising raffles.

- If you are not satisfied with current solutions, what are the key
features that are missing?

An easy easy way for people to click and contribute or contribute on a regular basis automatically. A few people do that via Paypal.

Paul, that's a great article. it's talking in the neighborhood of what
we are building. Basically a way to pool money and share revenue,
project and track expenses for money pooling, and track shares for
revenue sharing, and of course distribute money, all within a set of
open source tools that can be set up on LAMP or MAMP server fairly
easily.

We are asking about how people do this now, and what they would like
to see, as part of an open research process, called "Organized
Inquiry" (see: http://www.communitywiki.org/odd/CollectiveProblemSolving/OrganizedInquiryHub
)where we focus research on questions that emerged from our group
brainstorming. Then, we'll publish the findings of the inquiry and all
of the sources of answers to the questions. So, that way when others
go looking for this information, maybe it will save them some time.
Plus, it will help us make better decisions. Our whole project is
open, and open for participation. We are interested in collaborating
with groups that are trying to solve probelms like this, too.

Anyway, thanks! I'll be sure to reference this in our research.
