sisters at the prayer service for the Congo and we hope that you will

Dear Congolese brothers and sisters, and friends of the Congo,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

I am honored to invite you to *CONGO DOLOROSA*, a special day of prayer for
our more than 6 million brothers and sisters killed in our beloved country,
the Democratic Republic of Congo.  We will also pray for the establishment
of justice and peace.  A feminine Latin adjective, dolorosa means
“hurting.”  Here are some details about the event:

1.   1. CONGO DOLOROSA: What is it? It’s an ecumenical Christian prayer
service of remembrance of both the acts and the victims of injustice and
violence in the Congo, from 1996 through the November 28, 2011 disputed
presidential elections.

2.   2.  Date: *Saturday, February 4, 2012. 4:00P.M. – 7:00P.M.*

   -  Film: “Crisis in the Congo: Uncovering the Truth.”
   - Prayers
   - Songs and solos from choirs and individuals from *Chicago**,
   Bloomington, Normal, Champaign, Beardstown, Jacksonville…*
   - Brief sermons preached by Congolese and friend of the Congo pastors
   - Candle lighting in memory of the victims of violence in Congo,
   especially those killed from 1996 through the November 28, 2011 elections;
   - Brief addresses by victims (or their representatives) of injustice and
   oppression in Congo.
   - Greetings and reading of messages from elected US and African
   Community officials.
   - Refreshments and fellowship
