Subject: Here is an interesting internship opportunity...
Know of any students interested in obtaining real-world experience
while still in college and gaining an edge in the post-graduation job
search? GITA's Ed Forrest Internship program may be the answer!

The program was initiated to create opportunities for GIS students to
obtain practical hands-on experience. Participation as an intern
provides an excellent opportunity for students intending to pursue
employment in this field to become acquainted with companies in the
industry while they gain invaluable skills and knowledge that go way
beyond the classroom. GITA will offer one $2,000 stipend to a selected
student to offset travel and living expenses incurred during their
internship, but all qualified students will be given the contact
information for the participating companies and still have the
opportunity to explore internship possibilities with them.

Please urge your qualifying students to apply for this internship.

More information on application guidelines and submission requirements
is available at
http://www.gita.org/resources/internship/06internship_student.html. The
deadline for materials to be received at GITA's office is February 28,
2006, so please urge your students to get started right away to avoid
missing out on this great opportunity!

If you have any questions, contact Sara Kolaja by e-mail at skolaja
@gita.org or by phone at 303-337-0513
