Digital Pyrometers 
  ... ... Gary, the type K is a chrome/alumel alloy, while the type S is platinum/rhodium. this explains the difference in cost, the first going for $15_$20, the type S around $200. The chrome/alumel ones are not useful(accurate) past cone 5, while the type S are good to well above cone 13.... more »

Loading Kiln Tail parts 1 & 2 
  Hay Folks, Although we have already seen the loading progress up to past half full in the Fotki I finally got a round 2 it to edit a couple videos enough to get two under 10 minutes. Since I built the rear of this kiln taller I can get in much easier but it is a tight squeeze for the camera so the first part has a lot of my back with me talking and I see I must have been tired from the allnighter...... more »

using lots of water to mix clay 
  ...Well, Duff; Hank, not Lee here........ It certainly does. My jaw crusher and plate mill will take hardball- sized rocks(the harder the better) down to 18_10 mesh in the jaws and the plate section will take that down to -100 mesh. The ball mill is used to go finer. it does take a five horse B&S motor to do the work... more »

  Hi everyone, for those of you who remember me... I finally was able to install my new kilns... Now that I can make more and bigger pieces I need to refresh my handbuilding/sculptural chops. Old Yeller

traditional wheels for sale
