Thanks for the update. Indeed this estate is aging and in dire need of infusion of significant amount of funds to revive and infuse life into the estate, on one the most spacious and uniquely&  beautifully landscaped.

Such frequent revival of enblock sale hope has becoming akin to the US Fed raising rates. Every other week there is talk of rates hike, that impacts the forex, gold price, stocks & bond market, but then no rate hike for almost a year. This periodic raising of hope has prevented both the residents and the management into investing money in upkeep of this estate. This must stop for the benefit of all.

 

I would therefore suggest that instead of reviving talk of enblock sale, try to get the owners to improve this Condo. The sinking fund that needs to be substantially augmented, has not seen any increase over the years. So mum so that the painting of the condo, that is in shambles, has been delayed by a year, due to lack of funds I am told.

 

Are we (this condo)  waiting to die like an ailing old person? Or do we want to improve this condo enjoy the remaining life ?

 

Although the prices may have dropped, when you go to buy a replacement apartment, nothing less than S$1300 psf is available, let alone buying a similar size rooms and apartments. So for those who only own a single apartment, this is home and NO to enblock sale. And if this only apt is jointly owned by husband and wife, a 2nd apartment purchase would attract 7% as additional levey.
