Subject: REMEMBER, IT'S GOD'S WORLD
I have just written this poem this morning.  I read a poem about
someone who said that we were only one of many pebbles on a beach, and
I felt, as a Christian that this was not true, for when surrounded by
God's love, we are not alone and isolated like this - or rather we
should not be.  However, when other people don't give their love, then
people do, in fact feel like this. I write a lot of my poems with
children in mind, and this poem will go on my website where my poems
are used in classrooms all over the world.   Let me know if you think
this poem is good:

REMEMBER, IT'S GOD'S WORLD

By Josie Whitehead

God made this  lovely world of ours for you and also me,
He made all the little fishes that are swimming in the sea.
He made the grass so very green and the sky so very blue
He loves everything He made on earth, and also me and you.

God made animals who are very large, and others who are small,
He made those who run along quite fast, and those who slowly crawl.
He made those who love to eat the grass and others who eat meat
And after God had worked so hard, do you think it was complete?

No - God gave us lots of food to eat but told us we should share -
He gave His world to all of us but asked that we should care.
He wants us to respect His work and show love to one another -
To treat each person that we meet like a sister or a brother.

You know this hasn't happened when you meet folk who feel alone -
When they feel nobody loves them,  as if they only were a stone.
Yet God really knows each one of us - every hair upon our head.
Don't be selfish in God's lovely world - think of Him
instead.

Lovely poem.
Perhaps you misunderstood, though, about the pebble on a beach. We are all part of God and as a part of God, we are also connected to each other (as "a sister or brother"). I think what was meant was that we are all a part of God yet individual, as a pebble on a beach, or as a drop of water in an ocean - individual yet a part of the whole.
