CFO,

Well, the conversations that have been going on, both on and off the list have been really productive...especially for me.  I don't do CW for fame or praise...you can't get much of it there, and in QRQ even less.  I do it in order to meet and get to know great guys like the rarefied bunch here.  Everybody knows if I get pecked, I peck back, sometimes pretty hard.  But it's been worth the trip all along.  I'm slowly getting better at CW too, I think.  I am the kind of guy who will probably someday act like many of you guys and give newcomers a bit of hazing too!

Jerry and Bill sounded great last night on 7.024! 

My CFO tatoo (which I got last year) is on my QRZ.com page.  I took the photo myself, with my left hand on the same day I got the tatoo done.  It was based on Doris' art on found on the cover of some of the issues of the Key Clucks, but my artist colorized it, of course, added some shading, and did his best to replicate what a Vibroplex looks like.  With maybe a few exceptions, he got pretty close.  I even brought in my 1948 Original Deluxe to help him visualize the end product.  The red dots on the chicken is a bit of blood, which of course is gone now.  The pic is clickable on QRZ for a close-up.

Sorry we could not copy Brett - just too much noise and QSB. Maybe next time.I plan to move to Panama City, FL in the fall and perhaps there will be a good path for us then!

I got your posts Bill.  I agree that your Panama City QTH should have a much better path for me, as I get strong sigs from other friends in florida.  Of course, 20 meters can be great for getting into the west coast for me at certain times with my g5rv.  I'm working on a getting a dedicated 20m antenna up, hopefully this weekend.  Maybe resonant so I can just switch it and not worry about retuning.  73

I have no idea really...some kind of abbreviated code I guess...but I remember the rhyme from grade school.  The way I heard it was:

MR Ducks,

AR Not.

OSAR - See DIM Wings!

You brought some, uh, sort of sense and understanding to this.  What I recall from my grade schools days (that was decades ago) went something like this “ICUR, ICUB, ICUR 2Is 4 Me”.  It made no sense to me then and still doesn’t.  And then, “LMR cows.  O no A 8.  OSAR.  OICM.”  Now I understand it all perfectly.
